Thomas Fisher
Tom Fisher is a professor of architecture in the University of Minnesota's College of Design, the faculty director of the University’s GeoCommunities initiative, the director of the Minnesota Design Center, and the Dayton Hudson Chair in Urban Design. He also served as the dean of the College of Design for 19 years, prior to which he edited Progressive Architecture magazine for almost 15 years.
One of the most published authors in his field, he has written or co-authored 13 books, over 80 book chapters or introductions, and over 640 journal or magazine articles, and he recently won the top national award in his discipline: the Topaz Medallion for Excellence in Architectural Education. He is also a member in the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture’s College of Distinguished Professors, where he has served as its Chancellor.
